I like the wheels, but the drop is just too drastic for me. A little tasteful drop, maybe, but this just doesn't suit the car in my opinion.
That said, the car itself is awesome.

Two tone paint would look awesome. If you want to stay green, I always thought the forest green and pale/mint green combo looked good, as does the olive green and cream/almond combo.
I know it's just a photoshop job for now and it's your car and all so do what you want. But that green reminds me of a dumpster.
Just my 2 cents.

The paint is gonna stay how it is now, with that "patina" (rusty ugly bullshit). I really like the colors on that '59 though. Your dumpster comment made me giggle because the interior looks more like a dumpster than the outside.

nice, I see one similar to that occasionally, sitting real low on white walls. I'm super jealous of it.
I'll see if I can snap a photo next time I see it.
From memory it has the roof racks and the blinds on the rear window too.

I played with the idea of white lines, not walls mind you, but lines. I'd have to do it myself though, nobody in their right mind would make white lines in the size I need.

I had a friend who wanted to use dumpster paint on his Datsun pickup cause supposedly it's some durable stuff? Who knows... He was character so you can't take him too seriously.

It's basically a beetle engine with fuel injection (makes the engine less tall so it can squeeze in under the floor so you have a front and rear trunk, it's very cool).
No one understood FI at that point and it scared people, so that might be it but I doubt it.
I do know that looking the car over closely there's some angles that look just the slightest bit off, but I like it. I just think VW has cars that are more iconic and more loved, so it's not
unloved,
just
less loved.

We've smacked the pan in that so many times. That's at a car show went to this year. Very fun, but an hour and a half in cramped quarters with another man makes me very hopeful to have this done before the show next year.

Oh I missed your post yesterday (because I was asleep). Congrats on finding a replacement for Oskar! I personally prefer the Type 3 to the Type 1, especially the fastback. That 'shop looks great, do you have any performance mods planned or will it be all about the style? Also, is it a slushbox or stick shift?

Not a replacement, it's an older brother. Oskar's done being fixed, I haven't posted because I haven't picked the car up yet. As it stands now, only performance mod is an exhaust, bringing me to 75 horsepower. It's a 4 speed with the clutch, I dunno if they put the semiauto or whatever you call it in the type III so I always say 4 speed w/ clutch.
